So, I know this is going to shock many of you, but I'm seriously considering buying cloth diapers. I'm also going to stop shaving my legs, grow my hair out really long, start driving a 1960's VW van, and eat granola that I've made for every meal...
Okay, so not all of that. But I really am thinking I might do the whole cloth diaper thing. I'm still not sure what's gotten into me. I've NEVER had a desire to depart from my beloved disposable diapers. Okay, beloved might be a bit of an exaggeration. Still, it's never been something I've been remotely interested in doing, but I'm suddenly super excited about the idea.
My friend showed me the ones she's been using with her little girl and I think it might be a great way to save money as well as get in touch with my deep hippy self. The ones I'm looking at are the cheapest I've seen so far. If you feel the urge to check them out, they're at sunbabydiapers.com
If I decide to actually do it, and not just research it online, I'll let you know how it goes. :)

I have several friends that use cloth diapers and they LOVE it. From what I know of their research, I would probably go with fuzzy bunz one size diapers, but I haven't heard of the sun baby diapers, so that might be an even better option. Good luck!
more power to you....I will never give up disposable diapers. When I was 11, every day from 8:00am until 4:00 pm, I babysat my younger brother who was still in cloth diapers. Maybe because I was 11 at the time, but that experience made me decide that I would never, ever do cloth diapers. If it were just wet ones sure, but the poopy ones make it not worth it for me. But try it out, and see if it's worth it for you. You might really like the change.
From a non-mom: Go for it! I really think I would be willing to do it as well. At the same time, be sure you have disposables still for when people baby-sit. My sister used them on her kids, and I was not happy about it. If it is part of your daily schedule to wash out diapers, that's awesome. It's really not something a baby-sitter should have to deal with. Be sure to post your thoughts after the change!
LOL I love Elise's comment. so true. I am super curious in what you real draw to these diapers is though. You touched lightly on it, that it seemed like a good idea--but really, what drove you to actually do it. Is it the money? The save-the-landfills? Please...fill me in with more details!!!
