The new member of the family

I found this piano for free on craigslist. We went and checked it out last week and picked it up today. It is a player piano, and Scott is like a little boy with a bag a candy. He has been so giddy all day long. He has plans to use this piano to learn on. He wants to learn how to tune and restore pianos. I think it will be a great thing for us to do as a family

He is so proud... come to think of it, I think he is happier in this picture than he was when we got Jeff.

As up can see, he got right to work. That is why this piano looks so funny, it is missing lots of pieces because Scott took them off to see what made this thing tick.

This is a great video that motivates me to be a better mom, and a better person. I hope you enjoy it.

The Melting Pot

For my birthday Scott took me to The Melting Pot and it was great! You start the night off by having them cook the cheese fondue on your table right in front of you. There is a hot plate built into the table. Then they give you veggies and bread to dip into it. Then they bring out a salad that is packed with flavor. Then they bring out the main course. They have you choose your cooking style, in other words, what you want in your pot to cook your mean and veggies in. We chose the veggie broth. They give you a tray of raw meats and tons of sauces and then you put the meat on your stick think and stick it in the boiling water for a few minutes. There are so many different flavors and it is just soooo yummy. Then they bring out the fruits, brownies, cheese cake, and other stuff to dip in your chocolate fondue.

It is a great way to spend a romantic evening together. I would totally recommend it, but just beware it is very expensive. To get the meal for two it will be around $90. So... you might want to save it for an anniversary or something like that. This will count as my birthday dinner and our anniversary dinner. :) Two years!

So, long story short. We liked The Melting Pot and we recommend it to others.

Naovoo

This is a cute one of Scott trying to figure out the camera. Or something like that. He and Jeff have that same focused look when they are working on something.
In the wagon at Nauvoo and a big oxen hind-quarter.

I really liked the oxen and how they worked. I want to get some of my own. Once we have a place to keep them, I will have to put that on my wish list.

Baseball Games of Jeff's Life

So... some of these pictures are not so recent of Jeff. The ones of when he is little are from when we lived in California. This was his outfit that he wore to the Dodgers game. The more recent photos are of the Mets game. He was really interested in all the action of the game, but eventually he got pretty tired. So, we left early. But it was still a fun adventure. The coolest part of the night was that it was LDS night at the Stadium so there were tons of missionaries walking through the crowds handing out stuff and they sang the national anthem at the beginning. Unfortunately, we misses the song because of our dear beloved friend... traffic. ;)

Manhattan New York Temple

Scott and I decided to go to the Temple. The plan was that I would pick Scott up from work at about 5:30 p.m. we would drive into the city, meet up with some friends for some famous New York style pizza at a fun hole in the wall joint. Then we would go to the temple.
Sadly, the plan was flawed from the beginning. The babysitter misunderstood me and didn't come till about 5:40... no big deal we will just cut dinner out of the plans. Enters, traffic. So things are slow, that is fine if all else fails we can just get into the 8:30 session instead of the 7:17 one. And then... I get lost.
By some miracle I am lost driving all over and I turn a corner. There on the corner of the street is... Scott?!? Yep, talk about blessings. So... I pull over and he jumps in and we take off for the temple. By this time it is about 6:50. And then our long time friend enters the picture again. We hit more traffic that just seemed to get worse as the night proceeded.
We finally got to the temple at about 8:45. We went in side and just sat for a while to enjoy the quiet peace nestled away from the rest of the city. It was wonderful to go inside and see how beautiful it is. After that we went home and went to sleep.
So, next time we will plan a little better. :) And... here is a nice picture of the temple for you to enjoy.

Bronx Zoo

I got a little brave and took Jeff to the Bronx Zoo. I only got a little lost, but once we got there we got to see them feed the tigers. Unfortunately I forgot to take the camera, so hopefully this picture will do. Jeff liked the tigers, but after that he was so worn out from going in and out of gas stations to get directions and money for parking he didn't care too much about any of the other animals.
