Mess!

As a parent, I always worry if I'm doing things right. Do I give my child enough attention? Do I give him guidance that will help him turn out to be a decent human being? Well folks, here is a success story for you.

Jeff and I were at the store on Wednesday doing a little last minute grocery shopping. I had Nathan with me too so once we got the groceries in, Jeff had no place to sit in the cart. So he had to walk along side the cart and hang on (help me push) the cart. As we were walking out of the store Jeff yells, "Mom! Mess!" "Oh no! Mess!" He proceeded to run over and pick up a dropped receipt and put it in the garbage. A lady coming out of the store saw the whole thing. I'll admit, I couldn't have been more proud.

I was pretty impressed with myself until Scott made the comment later, " You know, with parents like us he might just turn out to be pretty OCD". I decided that wouldn't be too bad, as long as he is OCD about folding laundry, washing dishes, sweeping floors and stuff like that.

So, should I be worried or will he turn out okay?

Alright Sadie, If jeff is calling a reciept on the ground a mess, I will never be able to have you over to my house. YIKES! My house I am sure wouldn't be considered a mess, but contaminated and he would feel as if it should be condemned. However, it is a very cute story, and had I been a looker on it probably would have had me laughing so hard I wouldn't be able to breathe. I think it is rather impressive that he feels that way, I am sure he will turn out fine, now if you could help instill that into my 11 year-old son! YIKES!
